Looking Back At Festa di Santa Rosalia, 2013

Another summer ends with another lovely feast. The 2013 Festa di Santa Rosalia was remembered beautifully in the video above.

In recent years, the Festa di Santa Rosalia, otherwise known as the 18th Avenue Feast, has had trouble getting off the ground. This year was no exception as we reported in August that event organizers were facing difficulties getting all of the proper paperwork together. The event did manage to kick off and even drew the likes of mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis.

YouTuber Poppa Joe uploaded a wonderful video highlighting all the delicious food, fun games and rides present at the feast this year. Poppa Joe described the video with the following description:

Another year, another amazing Feast on 18th Ave. in Brooklyn. The Santa Rosalia Feast in Bensonhurst was in full swing, so Caroline “StarSira” Siracusa and I went for a stroll thru the 10 blocks of festivities. Thought I’d share with everyone a few minutes of the fun & food as we enjoy’d it. The whole thing, once again was shot completely on my iPhone, in HD and put to the Classic “Lasciatemi Cantare” by Toto Cutugno. I claim no rights to the music track as I gain NO monetary compensation for the work. Just something for all to enjoy. See you there again, this time next year. PoppaJoe

Very well done, Poppa Joe. Somehow, I’m already filled with nostalgia for the summer.
