We love what the Flatbush Food Coop does for much of our community, but we recognize the likelihood that it’s a schlep for some readers.

Yesterday we spoke to Windsor Terrace resident Jack O’Connell, who’s part of a group that’s been trying to establish a food coop in the Kensington-Windsor Terrace area for about a year and a half. He discussed the progress the group is making, where they’d like to set up shop, why a coop would be important to the KWT, and how others can get involved.

“If we want to be successful, we need participation from many,” Jack says. “This is after all a Cooperative, which of its nature means that it is all about the community cooperating.”

Check out the full interview on Kensington BK, and if you’re closer to the KWT area than to Ditmas Park, stop by the Windsor Terrace Food Coop’s next meeting at the Knights of Columbus Hall (1511 10th Avenue between Prospect Park Southwest and 16th Street) on Tuesday, February 25 at 7pm.
