Join Author Grace Jahng Lee For “Sharing Our Stories” At The Dorchester Senior Citizens Center

Next Tuesday, March 4, writer Grace Jahng Lee and local participants from the Dorchester Senior Citizens Center (1419 Dorchester Road, basement level, on the corner of Marlborough) invite you to Sharing Our Stories, a 12:30pm event which will feature biographical tales written by 15 area seniors. Participants attended a two month workshop with Grace, whose residency at the center is part of the Brooklyn Arts Council’s SPARC Program. Says Grace:

[The group’s] inspirations were numerous–some recounted their childhoods, immigration experiences, or memories of growing up in Brooklyn. The participants have incredible life stories.

The works read at the event will also be compiled into an anthology with all proceeds from sales going to benefit the center, plus the center’s Singing Swingers will provide musical entertainment. Join them if you’re able, hear about their experiences, and enjoy refreshments Tuesday afternoon.
