Join a Big Community Dog Walk and Help Support SCAR

Bring your dogs out for a big group walk as Sean Casey Animal Rescue joins in the National Family Pack Walk on Saturday, September 29 from 12pm-5pm:

This is a fun event for families and dogs to come together and share something very special with one another–walking in the same direction with the common goal of helping rescue dogs. Cesar Millan will kick-off the event with a 1.5 mile Pack Walk in Washington DC. Satellite walks will take place simultaneously throughout the country and SCAR is one of the participating rescues!

You can walk your own dog, or you can give one of SCAR’s rescue dogs an opportunity to spend a few hours out of its cage.

Participants will receive a registration doggy bag (subject to availability), and after the event, the walkers and the public can enjoy a fun event with a bake sale, chances to ask a vet tech and a groomer questions, a lemonade stand, raffles, and rescue t-shirts available for purchase.

Register for the event here. They have a $5,000 fundraising goal, and the registration fee that goes toward that is $25 for one walker and up to two of their own dogs, or $25 for one walker and one of SCAR’s rescue dogs. Additional donations are, of course, welcome–registration and donations will also be accepted on the day of the event, which starts up at the shelter on E 3rd St between Ft Hamilton and Caton.

Volunteers are also needed for the day of the event, or as one of the bake sale bakers. Email nyanimalrescue@yahoo.com for more information.
