iPhone Thief Stabs Man at F Train Station

A man was reportedly stabbed in the torso by a man who stole his iPone at the 18th Avenue F station at about 2:30am today, according to CBS Local. Police say the thief got away with the phone, and the victim is in stable condition at Lutheran.

Thefts of iPhones and other electronic devices has been on the rise recently, particularly on the subway. The NYPD reports that between January 1 and September  23, there were 11,447 incidents in which Apple products were stolen across the city (and not just on the subway). That’s an increase of 3,280 over the same period last year, or an increase of 40%.

As for iPhone thefts along the F subway line, about a year ago, a woman was attacked and her iPhone and cash stolen at the Fort Hamilton F station, and soon after another woman was robbed of her iPhone by teenage boys at the same station.
