In the Atlantic Wire, the great Jen Doll imagines “A Polite Conversation Between Some Kids, About a Bar.” It is hilarious and you should read it.
Not to be outdone, the New York Times also published a piece, a collection of comments on their recent and ground-breaking article about the strollers of Greenwood Park. It is also hilarious and you should read it.
One is a satire. The other one — I’m pretty sure — is not. The difference is…not as big as it might be.
(Which isn’t to say there aren’t real issues here — it just seems like the babies-in-bars crisis seems is a smokescreen for a much more real discussion we could be having about how people perceive their own life choices and process other people’s life choices. Or maybe it’s really all about “draft vs. baby bottles,” what do I know? Weigh in!)
