This month’s edition of the author reading series Lit at Lark promises to make you laugh. It will be hosted by Mary Phillips-Sandy, the managing editor of Comedy Central Digital (and a pretty funny writer as well), and will feature four bright and funny nonfiction writers of humorous essays and pop culture analysis:

Sara Barron is the author of two essay collections, People Are Unappealing and The Harm in Asking, which is coming out later this month, and she’s been called “a delightful combination of Kristin Wiig and Lucille Ball.”

Annie Choi has written two essay collections as well, Shut Up, You’re Welcome, which includes a story about why sandwiches make her so sad, and Happy Birthday or Whatever, which includes one about how her mother forgot her birthday, then tried to convince her it was actually in a different month.

Saul Austerlitz is a writer and critic whose book  Money for Nothing is being made into a documentary for which he’s written the script. His new book, Sitcom, which looks at the history of that TV format, was just released.

Jennifer Keishin Armstrong‘s history of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Mary and Lou and Rhoda and Ted, was published in May 2013, and she’s currently at work on a book about Seinfeld.

After the readings, there’s an informal, salon-style chat, so bring your questions for the authors!

Lit at Lark takes place on Sunday, March 16 at 5pm at Lark, 1007 Church Avenue. It’s free, Lark offers happy hour drink specials during the event, and Word Bookstore will be selling books written by and recommended by the authors who are reading.
