House Break-In Reported on Westminster Road

A neighbor reports that a home on Westminster Road between Glenwood and Avenue H was burglarized on Monday evening just after 6pm. The three suspects, who are described as non-white males in their late teens or early 20s, were caught on a surveillance camera from the house next door, but there have apparently been no arrests.

The neighbor adds that the suspects may have checked to see if people were home by ringing the doorbell, pretending they were looking for someone they knew if someone answered. Finding the Westminster home empty, they reportedly entered through a side window.

After a summer of several house break-ins around the neighborhood, followed by a couple of arrests, we thankfully haven’t heard of many more burglaries in recent months. But the police have often reminded us to keep your windows locked, to keep an eye out for your neighbors, and to call 911 if you notice anything suspicious.

We have reached out to the 70th Precinct to see if they have any more information, and will let you know if we hear anything. If you have any questions, you can contact our precinct at 718-851-5511.
