Cops are searching for a driver who plowed into a young boy and then fled the scene in Borough Park yesterday, close to the border of Kensington and blocks from the southern edge of Greenwood Cemetery.

Surveillance footage shows a black minivan cutting through the intersection as an adult and two kids stepped onto Fort Hamilton Parkway at 41st Street around 4pm, reports the New York Daily News.

The minivan collided with one kid, sending the other dashing across the street. The adult quickly grabbed the hurt boy while the driver paused and then rolled away.

The careless driver ran a red light through the intersection, said cops. Emergency personnel took the boy to Maimonides Hospital with a dislocated hip, and he is expected to survive.

This accident comes on the heels of another tragic hit and run in Brooklyn earlier this month, when a dollar van driver mowed down a couple as they were crossing the street on Flatbush Avenue in Marine Park, leaving the 47-year-old man dead and his 50-year-old wife in critical condition, reported our sister site Sheepshead Bites.
