Hearing Today On Bay Parkway Parking Space Reductions

Parking spots in Bensonhurst can be compared to gold. They’re rare, valuable, some might even say beautiful. All jokes aside – anything that would make our precarious parking situation worse is, naturally, going to face resistance.

That’s why when developers behind the new Calko Medical Center being built on Bay Parkway reportedly requested a reduction in the number of parking spaces they had promised, parishioners across the street at Saint Athanasius were, well, not very pleased.

Saint A’s has gone as far as to supply an air conditioned bus to take opponents of the proposed parking reductions to a hearing on the matter being held in Manhattan this afternoon.

According to an article in the church’s bulletin, the BSA hearing on the medical center’s parking provisions will take place today at 1:30 pm, at 40 Rector Street (6th floor, hearing room E).

The bus will be leaving from the corner of 60th Street and 21st Avenue at 12 pm. After the hearing, it will be returning to the same location.
