Rachel Sherman’s fiction workshop is holding a public reading at Lark (1007 Church Ave) on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:30pm. Hear local writers share their fiction, grab a snack and a drink from the cafe, and you can get a feel for what is being produced if you’re interested in the class:

Structured around in-class discussions of your work, we will focus on outline, structure, plot, narrative, dialogue, pacing, and content. You will receive written critiques and edits from me as well as your peers. This is an open class for both beginning writers as well as writers who currently have a novel or short story in progress. The class will culminate with an (optional) reading at Lark Cafe.

The next class will begin in May and run for 10 weeks. Dates and times are still to be determined. Contact rachel@rachelsherman.net to find out more or to sign up.

Additionally, there’s a chance to check out Rachel’s own work at an upcoming reading in Harlem. She’ll be at the Shrine World Music Venue, 2271 Adam Clayton Powell Blvd, on Monday, April 1 at 7pm along with poet Jericho Brown, multi-disciplinary art duo eteam, and poet and artist Khadijah Queen.
