Sad news from 22nd Street this week: Neighbors Chris Schneider and Ryan Powers have made the difficult decision to shutter their extraordinarily popular Holiday Light Spectacular for the 2015 season.

Working around the clock down in Red Hook to open Shipwrecked Miniature Golf, an indoor 18-hole miniature golf experience, the duo quickly realized that the holidays were closing in, and there was simply not enough time in the day to organize their annual light show.

All is not lost, though.

“We hope to revive the Holiday Light Spectacular as part of this new business in the coming year,” Schneider and Powers said via email on Tuesday.

In the meantime, we can all look forward to the opening of Shipwrecked. The new indoor entertainment venue will incorporate many of the technologies visitors to the light show have experienced in the past, and will have an exciting adventure-based storyline.

In addition to miniature golf, Shipwrecked will offer rental spaces for events and parties, an arcade with custom built classic arcade games, weekly events, and concessions.
