If you are staying in town, check out our list of all that will be open and closed today and tomorrow.

If you don’t have NYE plans yet, we highly recommend Coney Island’s first-ever New Year’s Extravaganza, which will include a ball drop, live music, a fire-breathing side show, fireworks, and more. If you are the more adventurous type, join the Polar Bear Club at 1pm tomorrow at Coney Island as they take their annual New Year’s Day plunge into the frigid ocean.

Also, don’t forget to read our countdown of the biggest news stories of 2014.
