Free Bike Repair Clinics at the Flatbush Reformed Church
Bike Repair

Flatbush Mutual Aid, a group of friends and neighbors active in local community empowerment projects, will be hosting an ongoing series of bike repair clinics every Tuesday from 6-9pm.

The clinics are free, and anyone is welcome to stop by and work on your own bicycle or help others fix theirs in their workspace, pictured above, in the brick church house basement at the Flatbush Reformed Church.

There are two special programs this month during the clinics:

Tuesday, February 5: Youth Bike Clinic
Young people are welcome to come with their bikes (and parents, if appropriate) to do a five-part safety check, and get help with simple fixes like brake adjustments, chain and gear problems, etc. Learn how to do these, and come back and help others!

Tuesday February 19: Traffic Skills for City Cyclists
A special presentation featuring Lance Jacobs of The Virtuous Bicycle. Prior registration is required; program starts at 6pm and ends at 8:30pm. Lance has come to Flatbush and cycled here, so he is preparing to address the specific issues of Flatbush bicyclists.

Prior registration is recommended for all clinics. To register, or for more information, call 718-421-1814 or 917-596-1781.
