Dining al fresco is one of the best parts of a Brooklyn summer, and now locals have more three more places to eat outside.

Clinton Hill French-American restaurant Three Letters (930 Fulton Street on the corner of Saint James Place) is adding a 14-table, 28-seat outdoor eating area out front, after Community Board 2 approved their proposal last week. Manager Cam Honsa says their menu changes daily, so prospective diners should check their website for summer specials.

Two Fort Greene eateries are also adding or hoping to add outdoor space. DNAInfo says The Great Georgiana (248 Dekalb Avenue on the corner of Vanderbilt) will be adding 28 sidewalk seats, along with an expanded menu, in mid-August; and The Runner (458-460 Myrtle Avenue between Washington and Waverly Avenues) has just opened its backyard garden–which The New Yorker called “the Platonic ideal of a Brooklyn patio” in a recent review. Stop by for their $1 weekday oyster specials from 3-7pm, and enjoy the sweet smell of those petunias.
