Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Rental Roundup: Shares On The Cheap

Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Rental Roundup: Shares On The Cheap
apartment building via douglas elliman

Alright, so maybe “cheap” is a strong word–after all, it’s getting harder all the time to find bedrooms for under a grand around here. All things relative, though, here are a few of the comparatively least expensive three and four bed places we spotted this week in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. If you live in one of the apartment buildings, let prospective neighbors know how you like it.

No Fee Three-ish Bed with a Catch
Available: Immediately
Price: $2,750, no broker fee
Details: If you were thinking this price was too good to be true, well, you might be onto something. We took the listing’s advice to examine the floor plan as “you must walk-through the second bedroom to access the third,” then squinted until we realized the “third bedroom” was actually an 86 sq ft storage space. That being said, the common spaces look more than roomy enough, the building appears well maintained, and that price with no broker fee! Have mercy.

Pratt Area Three Bed with Perks
Available: Immediately
Price: $3,000, plus broker fee
Details: Life in New York is hard, but laundry day doesn’t have to be. This true three bed around Taaffe Place and Willoughby Avenue has some really nice features like exposed brick and a new (if small?) kitchen, but the real clincher for us is the in-unit washer and dryer–so you can throw your clothes in, enjoy a day off with all the great stuff Myrtle Avenue has to offer, and mosey back for dryer duty on your own schedule. It’s the little things, y’know?

Super Convenient Three Bed Plus
Available: Immediately
Price: $3,250, plus broker fee
Details: Always late to work? Help curb that bad habit a little with this place on Fulton Street and Clinton Avenue, just a block from the C at Clinton-Washington and on several local bus lines, too. Looks like you have a semi-open kitchen and living room setup to make for easy entertaining, and who doesn’t love an extra half bath for when you and one of your guests have finished your third rum punch at the same time? The bedrooms are different sizes, too, so one or two of you might even secure a space in the three digit range. Animal lovers beware, though–there are no pets allowed.

Fab Four Bed Near the Park
Available: August 1
Price: $3,875, plus broker fee
Details: This fresh unit in a brownstone near Myrtle and Adelphi is awfully pretty–cherry floors, French doors, and (the ad says) sunlight abound. Each room can apparently hold a queen bed, so you won’t bee too cramped living with all those other people, plus pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis. Best of all? It’s possible that not a one of you will end up paying a full thousand.
