Man, is it gross out today! We’re hoping things will change towards the end of the week, but at least for the next few days, there are a few events to enjoy indoors.

Greenlight Poetry Salon
When: Monday, July 14, 7pm
Where: Greenlight Bookstore (686 Fulton Street at South Portland Avenue)
What: This event, originally scheduled to be held at Brooklyn Bridge Park, is moving back indoors tonight due to inclement weather. You can still expect a riveting evening, though, thanks to your emcee Angel Nafis as well as poets Shira Erlichman, Aracelis Girmay, Saeed Jones, and Patricia Smith, whose books will all be available for purchase.

Beer-Powered Pool Tournament
When: Tuesday, July 15, 8:30pm
Where: The Emerson (561 Myrtle Avenue between Classon Avenue and Emerson Place)
What: The buy-in for this tournament is $5 and includes a Harpoon draft beer, plus the winner will take all (besides $5) and a Harpoon six pack. They’re only accepting up to 16 players, so get there nice and early if you want a spot.
How much: $5

The Dominant Sophia
When: Wednesday, July 16, 12-6pm
Where: Urban Glass (647 Fulton Street at Rockwell Place)
What: Artist Joanna Manousis presents objects and installations that comment on the human condition, including a 3-D “rose window” and more, in this exhibition with limited opening hours until July 26.
How much: Free

Myrtle Comedy’s Last Show Until…
When: Thursday, July 17, 8pm
Where: Splitty (415 Myrtle Avenue between Clinton and Vanderbilt Avenues)
What: Doors are at 7:30pm for this show, which has been running on a weekly basis but is about to go on hiatus for a bit. This week’s lineup includes hosts Larry Murphy and Greg Johnson as usual, plus Bridget Everett, Dave Hill, Aparna Nancerla, Jo Firestone, Sally Burtnik, and Mike Lemme.

Kickstarter Film Fest
When: Friday, July 18, 7-11pm
Where: Fort Greene Park (near the Myrtle and North Portland entrance)
What: The festival will showcase a slew of films funded through Kickstarter projects, including Obvious Child with Jenny Slate. There will also be music by the Asphalt Orchestra marching band and Kaki King, and food from Butter and Scotch, Pop Karma, La Sonrisa Empanadas, and Brooklyn Soda Works.

Frshr Than Your Avrge Sneaker Event
When: Saturday, July 19, 12-5pm
Where: Irondale Ensemble Project (85 South Oxford Street at Lafayette Avenue)
What: Buy, sell, trade–even battle with–kicks at this event that’s sure to please local sneaker heads. FTYA’s motto is “Only the fresh survive,” so snap up some tickets ahead of time and get ready to browse limited edition shoes and more.
How much: $15 ahead of time, $20 at the door
