Lots of cool stuff coming up this week–much of it free–including  classes in movement and safe cycling, fun at bars, and beyond.

Community Dance Class
When: Monday, August 11, 6:30pm

What: Evidence, A Dance Company

‘s Ronald K. Brown brings contemporary African dance to neighbors of all ages and skill levels at no cost. No experience necessary.

Fulton Grand Fourth Anniversary
When: Tuesday, August 12, 6pm
Where: The Fulton Grand (1011 Fulton Street at Grand Avenue)
What: Join the bar to celebrate four years in business, enjoy free pizza, and drink to several more years!

Pub Quiz
When: Wednesday, August 13, 8pm
Where: Putnam’s Pub & Cooker (419 Myrtle Avenue at Clinton Avenue)
What: If you’re a jack of all trivia trades but a master of none, this weekly quiz at Putnam’s might be right up your alley. Categories bounce around, musical clues are provided, and placing teams get gift certificates for the restaurant ($100 for first place, $50 for second, $25 for third).

Citi Bike Skills Class
When: Thursday, August 14, 7:30-8:30pm
Where: Red Lantern Bike Shop
What: Learn about NYC’s biggest bike sharing program as well as cycling safety and tips, plus get a 24 hour Citi Bike pass on the house.

Singalong with Jarrod
When: Friday, August 15, 2:30pm
Where: Greenlight Bookstore (686 Fulton Street at South Oxford Place) What: Kids ages six weeks to three years are invited to this musical event, which features 40 minutes of fun with books and a guitar.

String Orchestra of Brooklyn Concert
When: Saturday, August 16, 8pm
Where: Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church (85 South Oxford Street between Lafayette Avenue and Fulton Street)
What: The SOB‘s Reiko Watanabe will play a composition by early 1900s violinist Eugène Ysaÿe, which will be followed by a talk on the work by Ray Iwazumi as well as more music.
How much: $10 for students and seniors, $15 general admission (tickets here)

West Side Story Screening
When: Sunday, August 17, 8pm
Where: Habana Outpost
What: See the 1961 take on Romeo and Juliet starring Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer, and have a drink in Habana Outpost’s lovely yard while you’re at it.
