Fire Breaks Out At Kings County Criminal Courthouse Wednesday
A fire broke out at the Kings County Criminal Courthouse located at 120 Schermerhorn Street Wednesday afternoon, forcing the building to be evacuated.
Firefighters responded to the scene at approximately 4pm and found the fire on the sixth floor of the 13-story building, an FDNY spokesperson says. The fire was contained at approximately 5:45pm.
Nine court officers suffered minor injuries from the incident.
The accidental electrical fire was caused by a faulty power strip, according to the FDNY.
