Fill Out A Survey To Help “Reinvent” The MTA
The MTA Reinvention Commission, which you may not have heard of but which held three very last minute public hearings last week, is offering New Yorkers who missed out on the comment periods each day a chance to voice their concerns about and suggestions for the transit organization.
Streetsblog and Crain’s have perhaps the most thorough coverage of the commission, which Governor Cuomo reportedly requested from MTA Chairman Thomas Prendergast in May and which assembled in late June–and whose plan for change is due by October 1.
Check out the commission’s survey, keeping in mind topics to consider like climate change, population growth, energy efficiency, institutional barriers, and more–and if you choose to disclose your email, you’ll be updated about future Reinvention Commission events. Reforms are slated to be made over the next 100 years (and we will be not sitting for weeks at a time/forgoing donuts in an attempt to live long enough to see it all pan out), but since everything else surrounding the commission is being done on such a short timeline, maybe we’ll be seeing changes made sooner than we think.
