UPDATE: Explosion In Midtown Causes Subway Disruptions

[UPDATED: Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:25am] Following this morning’s investigation, authorities have announced that normal subway service has resumed on the 1,2,3,N,Q,R,W,7,B,C,L and M trains in both directions. Commuters should expect residual delays.

A notification was issued at 7:48am this morning following an underground explosion near the Port Authority bus terminal in midtown Manhattan. Due to NYPD activity, expect traffic delays and a heavy presence of emergency personnel in the vicinity of West 42nd Street between 8th and 9th Avenues in Manhattan.

– 1, 2, 3, N, Q, R, W and 7 trains are bypassing Times Sq-42 St in both directions.

– A, C and E trains are bypassing 42 St/Port Authority-Bus Terminal in both directions.

Authorities suggest considering alternate routes and allowing for additional travel time.
