Today, an 85-year-old driver in Brighton Beach struck three pedestrians in broad daylight when he jumped the curb, killing one woman and injuring two others.

The elderly driver of a 2016 Lexus was attempting to reverse into a parking spot in front of 281 Brighton Beach Avenue between Brighton 2nd and Brighton 3rd Streets, said cops. But he lost control of the car and rolled into the sidewalk, hitting three people on Monday, January 30.

At around 1:15pm, cops found an unconscious 67-year-old woman with severe trauma to her body, and two other people with minor injuries: a 33-year-old man and 70-year-old woman.

EMS rushed the first woman to Coney Island Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The two other pedestrians were taken to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition.

The driver remained at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
