Need some earth to dig in for Earth Day?

Join students from Brooklyn Urban Garden Charter School (BUGS), and parks gardening experts, in learning the ins and outs of planting a vertical garden at Dome Playground tomorrow. Activities will run from 11am until 2pm.

Dome Playground is located on Dahill Road at 38th Street (a block from McDonald Avenue at Avenue C or Cortelyou Road).

Co-sponsored by Partnership for Parks, Friends of Dome Playground, and Councilmember Brad Lander, other activities will include arts and crafts and composting workshops. There will also be refreshments for volunteers.

This is the first in a series of events at Dome in the coming weeks, including a basketball clinic for boys—and GIRLS—in May!!

Dome’s renovated sitting and children’s play areas will be dedicated with an official ceremony on Monday, May 2 at 11am, showcasing “Parkies,” local officials and politicos. The dedication will be followed by energetic and sedentary activities for the audience.  Come join us.
