E-Waste Recycling Returns To Prospect Park This Weekend
Electronics Recycling turntables

If you’ve upgraded your entertainment system or your computer’s swan song has finally come to an end since the last round of electronic waste recycling events in the neighborhood, count yourself lucky–the Lower East Side Ecology Center is bringing their services to our neck of the woods once again with an event this weekend in Prospect Park.

Neighbors are invited to bring their broken and unwanted electronics to the organization’s After the Holidays event, being held at the park’s 3rd Street entrance (take the Q to 7th Avenue or the B41 to Grand Army Plaza) this Sunday, January 19, from 10am-4pm.

Acceptable items include: computers (laptops & desktops, servers, mainframes), monitors, printers, scanners, fax-machines, copiers, network devices (routers, hubs, modems, etc), peripherals (keyboards, mice, cables, cords, chargers, etc), tablets and e-readers, components (hard drives, CD-ROMs, circuit boards, power supplies, etc), TVs, VCRs, DVRs, and DVD players, Digital Converter Boxes, Cable/Satellite Receivers, portable music players, audiovisual equipment, video games, cell phones, pagers, PDAs, and other telecommunication devices (phones, answering machines, etc).

Unfortunately, home appliances including microwaves, refrigerators, air conditioners, and ionization smoke or carbon monoxide detectors will not be accepted. You can learn how to properly dispose of those devices, and answers to FAQs, here.
