Drink ‘n’ Draw figure drawing in PLG
When: Friday, October 28 from 6pm to 9pm.
Where: The Westbury Inn, 673 Flatbush Avenue between Hawthorne and Winthrop Streets.
What: Join local artists for a night of figure drawing featuring a live model holding a variety of long and short poses. BYO drawing materials, including drawing board. Some materials will be on site, including an open drawing table for collaborative fun. Spaces limited, please RSVP here.
How Much: $10 tab minimum per guest, including food items. Please tip staff and models.

Textile art exhibit at Caribbeing House
When: Friday, October 28 from 5pm to 9pm.
Where: Caribbeing House, 794 Flatbush Avenue between Caton Avenue and Lenox Road.
What: Caribbeing presents the opening of their exhibit Brooklyn Quilt Girl, with Latino-inspired textiles by Sylvia Hernandez. Light refreshments will be served.
How Much: Free

Local musicians at The Owl Music Parlor
When: Friday, October 28 at 8pm (doors at 7:30pm).
Where: The Owl Music Parlour, 497 Rogers Avenue between Midwood and Maple Streets.
What: Oregon-based songwriters Anna Tivel and Jeffrey Martin join local singer Jean Rohe for a cozy evening.
How Much: $10 suggested donation.

Annual book sale from Cortelyou Library Friends
When: Saturday, October 29 from 11am to 4pm.
Where: Cortelyou library, 1305 Cortelyou Road at Argyle Road.
What: The Cortelyou Library Friends group is holding its annual book sale at the library this Saturday, and there’s still time to donate books and volunteer. Contact cortelyoulibraryfriends@gmail.com to volunteer.

Q Gardens fall festival & fundraiser
When: Saturday, October 29 from 1pm to 4pm.
Where: Q Gardens, at the corner of Church Avenue & East 18th Street.
What: Support your local community garden and get in the autumn spirit with live music, art by Carlos Pinto, a clothing & book swap, take-home soups in beautifully crafted bowls, baked goods, bunched herbs, and ready compost.
How Much: $15 suggested donation for a take-home bowl.

Halloween Family Events in Prospect Park
When: Saturday, October 29 from 12pm to 5pm.
Where: Prospect Park, events at Lookout Hill, the Nethermead field, Lefferts Historic House and the Carousel.
What: Looking for Halloween fun for the family? Come to the Prospect Park Alliance’s 37th Annual Halloween Haunted Walk and Fair for an afternoon of free, ghoulish fun. This year, Halloween fun continues at Lefferts Historic House and the Prospect Park Carousel. Start with the haunted walk and fair from 12pm to 3pm at the Nethermead; peep some creepy, crawly creatures at the Audubon center from 12pm to 4pm; tell scary (and historic) stories with Tammy Hall from 2pm to 4 pm; and ride the haunted carousel from 12pm to 4pm.
How Much: Free (carousel rides are $2 each).

Die De Los Muertos at the Avenue C Plaza
When: Saturday, October 29 from 2pm to 6pm.
Where: Avenue C Plaza, at the corner of McDonald Avenue and Avenue C.
What: Come out for the dearly departed, build and decorate a communal Ofrenda and learn how to make a shrine with local teaching artist Cynthia Cantor-Fortozo. Join in for crafts, face painting, folk dances, poetry, and treats.

Windsor Terrace Food Co-op open house
When: Saturday, October 29 from 10am to 4pm.
Where: Windsor Terrace Food Co-op, 825 Caton Avenue at the corner of East 8th Street.
What: One day only, the Windsor Terrace Co-op opens its doors to nonmembers, Come by to shop and check out the benefits of belonging to a co-op.
How Much: Free to shop.

Soloman Hicks at Bar Chord
When: Saturday, October 29 at 10pm.
Where: Bar Chord, 1008 Cortelyou Road, between Coney Island Avenue and Stratford Road
What: Come see the classic blues guitar stylings of Solomon Hicks, one of the genre’s rising stars. Read more about Hick’s fascinating musical career here.

Halloween Dance Party at Sycamore
When: Saturday, October 29 at 10pm.
Where: Sycamore Bar, 1118 Cortelyou Road.
What: Shake your bones at Sycamore’s dance party from 10pm to 2am, featuring DJ Classy Chris, a costume contest at midnight, and food from TriniPastelles.

Halloween Party at The Adirondack
When: Saturday, October 29, from 9pm to 4am.
Where: 1241 Prospect Avenue between Greenwood Avenue and Reeve Place.
What: Get your party ghoul on at this Windsor Terrace Halloween party, featuring a costume contest with prizes, brewery schwag, & New York Islanders hockey tickets; music by Kyle Brown; and a Vincent Price movie marathon.

Where: Between Glenwood Road and Avenue H
What: Come see what treasures you can dig up in the neighborhood at the Fisk Terrace multi-house yard sale.

Monster Skate at LeFrak skating center
When: Sunday, October 30 from 12pm to 5pm
Where: LeFrak center at Lakeside, Prospect Park
What: Skate your heart out at the 2nd Annual family Monster Skate Halloween Party with spooky music, activities, prizes, free 15-minute group lessons, and an on-ice Costume Contest at 2pm.
How Much: Skating admission is $9 and skate rentals are $6 plus tax.

Uni pop-up Library at the Avenue C Plaza
When: Sunday, October 30, 12pm to 4pm.

What: Read, draw and play at Uni Library’s pop-up library and game center at the Avenue C plaza in Kensington, running for three Sundays.

Beauty Shop stage play at Kings Theater
