Ditmas Park’s Hurricane Sandy Damage Map

We have gotten so many reports of downed trees and tree limbs in the neighborhood that we’ve put together this interactive map to share exactly where they are. This should include all the emails, Tweets, comments, Facebook mentions, etc., but if you notice anything is missing, please let us know.

If you see any more damage from Hurricane Sandy, you can either continue to send us info and photos at ditmasparkcorner@gmail.com, or you can enter the information directly on the map, located here. We will continue to update this map throughout the day on Tuesday.

Please call 311 (not 911) to report fallen limbs. As we saw with Irene last year, it may take some time for the city to come and remove them, so patience (or elbow grease) will be needed.

Even though the storm will begin to start quieting down somewhat on Tuesday morning, please remember that it’s not over. With all the damage we’ve seen so far, the chances of a strong gust of wind bringing down a loose branch will still be a concern. Continue to be careful, and stay inside if possible.

Thanks so much to all the neighbors who have sent us information today. We could not be covering this storm as thoroughly without you! We hope you and your friends, family and neighbors are safe and sound.
