Deutsch Swaps Out Star Wars For Wizard Of Oz Due To Licensing Dispute
City Councilman Chaim Deutsch has swapped out the sun-baked dunes of Tatooine for the yellow brick road of Oz.
The councilman announced on Facebook Monday that he will be showing “The Wizard of Oz” instead of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at his drive-in movie night next week. He explained the change of plans is because of a “last minute conflict with the licensing company.”
The location and time are still the same. The film will be shown at Manhattan Beach Park, in the parking lot near Oriental Boulevard and Irwin Street. Doors open at 7pm and the movie starts at 7:45pm.
