The City Point housing/retail development off Albee Square will be even more mixed-use once it opens DeKalb Market Hall in 2016. The giant 26,000-square-foot food hall will feature between 35-55 food vendors, many of them favorites returning from the now-closed DeKalb Market outdoor food-and-flea market plaza that used to sit on the construction site.

According to Eater, among those already signed up to return are Cuzin’s Duzin, Fletcher’s Brooklyn Barbecue, Arepa Lady, Forcella, Steve’s Ice Cream, Pain D’Avignon, a pierogi counter, and a crepe bar. Even the famed Katz’s Deli is rumored to be heading over from its Lower East Side flagship.

The market is being planned by Local Culture Management, which runs Forager’s Market in DUMBO, so we can expect an airy, Whole-Foods-meets-industrial-warehouse feel, as is also seen in the rendering above.
