Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

It’s yet another frigid day in the neighborhood, with a high of 19 degrees and wind chill around -5, according to the National Weather Service. It should warm up over the weekend, however, so if you’re out sledding in Fort Greene Park or shoveling snow, take some pictures and share them in The Nabe’s Flickr pool.

  • One local has taken advantage of the snow to express his creative side, The New York Times reported. Local artist Joe Baldazar, who works at the Lafayette Grocery & Dairy at 133 Lafayette Avenue, built a 3-foot tall, 5-foot long rhinoceros out of snow in front of the deli on Tuesday night. He used Welch’s grape soda bottle caps for the eyes and two cake trays from the deli for the ears. The snow rhino was still there on Thursday afternoon.
  • Kids can learn French now at local children’s clothing store Hank & JoJo, reported DNAinfo. Owner Andriana Spence, who has clothed the children of celebrities Gwen Stefani and Tori Spelling, is expanding the classes at her store to include French and other languages. The first class is already full, but local parents can still check out other classes for kids at the 212 DeKalb Avenue store.
  • 1980s pop music meets opera in “WOW,” a show about the rise and fall of Milli Vanilli that opens this month at the BRIC House in Fort Greene, according to The Brooklyn Paper. Fort Greene locals Joe Diebes, Christian Hawkey and David Levine created the show, which they say examines the story behind the pop duo’s lip-synching scandal. The opera will run from Jan. 24 to Feb. 1, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. Tickets are $18, $15 in advance at BRIC House, 627 Fulton Street, (718) 683-5600.
  • Cheer on the Long Island University Blackbirds at a doubleheader this Saturday. The women’s team faces Robert Morris University at 2 p.m. and the men play Mount St. Mary’s University later at 4:30 p.m. at LIU’s Steinberg Wellness Center on 161 Ashland Place.
