Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

Break out the down jackets, locals, because snow is hitting the nabe this weekend. Friday starts off with rain showers, but by Saturday morning expect that to freeze into white flakes, according to the National Weather Service.   • On Thursday, Dec. 5, the United States Postal Service will present a relocation proposal for two of its post offices within Community District 2. Leases for the Pratt Station Post Office, located at 534 Myrtle Avenue, and the Times Plaza Station Post Office, located at 542 Atlantic Avenue. are with a private property owner with other plans for the buildings when the leases expire in 2014. The Postal Service is proposing to relocate to yet-to-be-determined new locations within the respective zip codes. The public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the third floor auditorium of the Brooklyn Hospital Center. Written comments on the proposal will be accepted through Dec. 20.
  • This Saturday you can sip while you shop in Fort Greene. The Pratt Area Community Council is sponsoring “Sip and Shop” at Estate Jewels by George and Raf. A portion of funds raised from the sale of the vintage jewels will benefit PACC. The event will be held at 111 Lafayette Avenue, at the corner of South Oxford Street, from 2 until 7 p.m. Guests can RSVP by emailing info@estatejewelsbygr.com.
  • This weekend, Long Island University Brooklyn is seeking its eighth Northeast Conference title in the last 10 years in the 2013 Northeast Conference Women’s Volleyball Tournament. LIU Brooklyn, which sports a 31-match conference win streak, will host the conference. On Saturday, the Blackbirds host No. 4 ranked Robert Morris University at 3 p.m., and No. 2 ranked Central Connecticut State will play No. 3 ranked Sacred Heart University at 5:30 p.m. Saturday’s winners advance to the conference final on Sunday at 3 p.m. All matches will be held at the Steinberg Wellness Center, located at 161 Ashland Place.
