Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

This evening is expected to be rainy, but no fear – this weekend is full of warm, spring weather for all of your activities, locals. Saturday and Sunday’s highs will be in the mid-60s, and the sun will shine, according to the National Weather Service. So, get outside this weekend – and tell us what you did and share your pictures in The Nabe’s Flickr group.

  • Saturday is Brooklyn for Peace’s rally and march to “give peace a chance.” The rally and march coincides with the Global Day of Action Against Military Spending, and marchers will walk to Rep. Hakeem Jeffries office to demand he support diplomacy and peace in settling the dispute with Iran. The walk starts at 11 a.m. in Grand Army Plaza, in front of the Brooklyn Public Library. Fort Greene Peace will have a delegation in the walk and all are welcome to join.
  • Registration for Camp Fort Greene at the Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church is now open for the 2014 season. The camp runs from July 7 to August 22, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Session one is $1,400 for four weeks, and session two is $1,050 for three weeks. The program emphasizes art and science, and campers will have a wealth of activities each week. Camp is for kids 4 to 6 years old, who will be divided by age into groups of 15 campers. Camp meets at. There are only 30 spots, so you have to move quickly.
  • Want to learn about the connection between a Finnish fetish and feminism? On Sunday, the Brooklyn Museum will host a discussion between female artists, in conjunction with Judy Chicago’s exhibition at the museum. The talk, “From Finnish Fetish to Feminism,” will explore Chicago’s career. It starts at 2 p.m. and a book signing will follow.
