Happy Halloween, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

It’s time for another season of haunting in the nabe today, including a walk for candy offered by the Society for Clinton Hill and Halloween 313’s annual Halloween play, which has a “20,000 Screams Under the Sea” theme this year. Whether you choose to spend the holiday costume-clad or not, submit some photos of the fun in The Nabe’s Flickr Group.

Here’s some more news to start your day:

  • The Long Island University Brooklyn basketball season is a still week away, but season tickets are now available for both the men’s and women’s teams. The women will look to win a Northeast Conference championship and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after a banner recruiting year, while the men are vying for their fourth-straight NEC crown. Season plans start at $85 for general admission, while reserved section spots cost $150 to $175.   • Are you still unsure of how Obamacare affects you? There will be an information session and presentation about the Affordable Care for America Act and what patients need to know at the Teen Challenge Center on Nov. 14. Doors of the 444 Clinton Avenue venue open at 6 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. event.
  • This weekend American Opera Projects, located at 138 South Oxford Street, will be part of a New York Opera Alliance event to highlight the diversity and vitality of opera in New York City. The show on Nov. 3, at Le Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker Street, features almost 30 different city opera companies – surely a season highlight for many local opera lovers. Tickets are $10 for the show, which starts at 3 p.m.
