Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

The snow is falling, but don’t let that news get you down – Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and nary a flake is expected. If you’re still looking for ways to celebrate with your kids, the Co-op School‘s annual Valentine’s Day dance will be on Feb. 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. The dance will have food and drink, as well as has many other activities to keep those with two left feet busy. Admission is free, just head to 87 Irving Place.

Here’s more news to begin your morning:

  • Greene Hill Co-op made the news as part of a story on The New York Times that examined gentrification and food choices. Although the co-op is welcoming in both advertising and customer service, the piece notes that many residents still feel alienated and out of place. What do you think, locals?
  • Our friends at the Greene Grape let us know that the Kings County Distillery has again made a limited batch of its chocolate whiskey for Valentine’s Day. Of the 720 bottles produced, the store got its hands on 48 of them, so hurry over to 765 Fulton Street to pick yours up.
  • A new trend in marriage proposals using a swarm of pooches started in Fort Greene Park, People Magazine reported. 15 French bulldogs helped lure one man’s girlfriend to the Prison Ship Martyrs’ Monument, where the dogs’ owners held posters with the message “MARRY ME JESS.” She said yes, of course.
