Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

We hope you stayed warm this weekend.  Despite the chill, we saw that some of you were out taking pictures of the snow in the neighborhood. There’s a chance of snow today, with gusting winds in the afternoon, but the temperature will be close to 40 degrees today, according to the National Weather Service.

Here’s some more news to start your week:

  • Clinton Hill’s Broken Angel building has been sold for $4,100,000, Brownstoner reported. The new owner, Alex Barrett of Barrett Design and Development, intends to convert the building into eight residential condos. The previous owner, artist Arthur Wood, was evicted last spring after a protracted legal battle. Barrett will have to take down the Angel’s front addition with its distinctive roof, which Wood had built himself, since it is against building codes and partially built on city property. The building was once the backdrop in “Dave Chapelle’s Block Party.”
  • A new barbecue restaurant is opening on Myrtle Avenue this week, according to the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership. Chef Raul Perez will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Humo Smokehouse at 336 Myrtle Avenue on Jan. 29 at 4 p.m.
  • Hit the brakes, Clinton Hill. The Community Board 2 Transportation Committee voted last week to install a slow zone for the area between Washington Avenue, Lafayette Avenue, Bedford Avenue and Fulton Street, the Brooklyn Paper reported. The full board will vote on the proposal to install speed bumps, special go-slow signs and new street markings on Feb. 12.
