Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

We got some soaking April showers last night, but skies are expected to clear this morning and temperatures rise to the high 60s, according to the National Weather Service. Forgetting the possibility of rain on Friday, the good weather is predicted to continue right through to Monday of next week. What plans do you have for the warming weather? Let us know in the comments.

Here’s more news to start your day:

  • The 2014 Fort Greene House Tour, “At Home with the Arts,” is looking like it might be the largest ever, with more than 10 homes and numerous arts locations on the docket. But the Fort Greene Association, which runs the tour, is still in need of “house sitters” who host and regulate flow of tour goers through each stop. Email joan@fgahousetour.org to volunteer and don’t forget to follow the house tour Twitter feed to get facts about each venue.
  • Norman Oder at the Atlantic Yards Report analyzed news of a green roof with small plants in a soil-like cover that will soon grow on top of the Barclays Center, originally reported by the Wall Street Journal. The story spins the news favorably for Atlantic Yards developer Forest City Ratner, the blog contended, and failed to show that because the roof was not studied during the arena development process, it’s “another failure of accountability.”
  • The St. Joseph College Lady Bears softball team increased its winning streak to three with a sweep of Lehman College to start the week, defeating the Lightning 9-4 in the opener and 7-3 on the nightcap. The Lady Bears, who recorded double-digit hits in each of their last three games, improved to 20-0 all-time against the Lightning. Next up for the Lady Bears is a doubleheader on Thursday at The College at Old Westbury beginning at 3 p.m.
