Residents from New York City Housing Authority developments in the 35th District, including the Ingersoll Houses, Farragut Houses, Atlantic Terminal Houses and the Walt Whitman Houses, gathered yesterday evening at the Ingersoll Community Center for a town hall meeting organized by City Council Member Laurie Cumbo.

About 50 residents divided into five groups to discuss problems such public safety, community building and government accountability, and to brainstorm possible solutions, such as better lighting and increased police foot patrols. The discussion group results will be presented to the NYCHA Commissioner Shola Olatoye at another town hall meeting next week on April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Ingersoll Community Center at 177 Myrtle Avenue.

For more information about the meeting, locals should contact the 35th District office at (718) 260-9191.
