Crime Has Dropped 39% for December, Reports 70th Precinct

Crime dropped 39% in the first week of December compared to the same period year according to the 70th Precinct’s latest CompStat report. Numbers dropped nearly 50% compared to the last week in November. At 23 major complaints, the period from December 3 through December 9 stands as the best CompStat numbers seen since we began tracking the reports this past summer.

Several incidents have recently been reported around our area:

• A neighbor was robbed at gunpoint on Church Avenue yesterday.

• A bus driver punched a man in the head after being spit on. The driver was arrested and charged with assault.
