Cops Find Hundreds Of Heroin Packets In Apartment Near Brooklyn College

Officers seized hundreds of packets of heroin and took two men into custody Thursday morning while executing a search warrant at an apartment near Brooklyn College.

The search was conducted by officers from the 61st Precinct, the Sheepshead Bay station house, who proudly showcased their haul on Twitter.

Cops raided the residence just after 6am and found 245 packets of heroin, a scale and packaging materials, according to police. The apartment, located in a building at the corner of East 32nd Street and Avenue H, is the home of 43-year-old Nephtali DeJesus, who was arrested and charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and intent to sell.

Police say DeJesus has a rap sheet, including a 2010 arrest for possessing four ounces of a controlled substance.

Cops also cuffed 37-year-old Freddie Salgado during the search. He was charged with marijuana possession. Salgado had already been picked up in August, when cops found drugs and a weapon in his possession, according to the NYPD.
