Have you been outside today? It’s hot. Really hot. Like stepping outside and immediately dissolving into a giant puddle of sweat type of hot. Thankfully, for those that have been forced to venture beyond the the blow of an air conditioner, the good folks at Buttermilk Bakeshop (339 7th Avenue, between 9th and 10th Streets) have an ice cream cone with your name on it.

For $2.50, you get a scoop of shop-made ice cream (a cone is .50 extra) in flavors like chocolate brownie, vanilla, strawberry, coconut passionfruit, and mint chip. We went with the coconut passionfruit, and it was amazing. The perfect balance of tart and sweet that is sure to keep calling us up the Slope throughout these dog days of summer.

The next time you find yourself strolling 7th Avenue, be sure to stop by for a scoop. You’ll be glad you did.

Buttermilk Bakeshop is open Tuesdays through Fridays, 8am to 7pm, and Saturdays, 9am to 7pm, and Sundays, 9am to 6pm. The shop is closed on Mondays. Credit cards are accepted. To place an order, or for more information, call 347-689-4376.
