The PS 139 Chess Ninjas team, the reigning National Champions for K-5 under 900, competed in the New York State Scholastic Chess Championship in Saratoga Springs this past weekend, and they brought home some nice results.

Coach and Ditmas Park neighbor Ian West of the Chess Academy of New York tells us that the Intermediate team finished first in their division. The Open team finished fifth in a division where they have to play against 6th grade teams (it’s a K-6 section), but they were the top team without any 6th graders. The Primary team (K-3) finished 7th.

Congratulations to all the players!
