The PS 130 community is joining with Mohammad Naiem Uddin’s family for a December 1 vigil for the 14-year-old boy who was killed by a hit-and-run driver at Caton Avenue and East 7th Street last Thursday night.

The vigil will be held Monday, December 1 at 6pm. There will be a procession that is expected to start at PS 130 (70 Ocean Parkway) and will continue to the East 7th Street/Caton Avenue intersection. We will update you as more details become available.

Additionally, we’ve learned that Councilman Brad Lander’s office is scheduling a public meeting in early January to review the DOT’s plan for traffic safety improvement in the area surrounding PS/IS 437 (the school that’s being built at the intersection where Naiem was hit). We will also keep you updated on the date and location of that meeting.
