Comings & Goings: Aita’s New Spot, Cammareri’s Gone, And More

Fort Greene and Clinton Hill are the place to be, and that means businesses are packing into our neighborhood. Conversely, that also means competition is fierce and sometimes places have to leave. Here’s a rundown of what’s coming and what’s going.

COMING SOON: The Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership has a rundown on what’s headed our way.

LaRina Pastificio & Vino (387 Myrtle Avenue): Clinton Hill standout Aita’s owners told us about their new spot a couple of months back and here it comes. The new shop, opening later this summer between Clermont Avenue and Vanderbilt Avenue, will hone its focus to pastas.

Kaufman’s Children’s Dental Home (549 Myrtle Avenue): Dr. Elan Kaufman, who graduated with honors from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, leads this pediatric dental office that also offers orthodontics. They have other locations in Midwood and the East Village.

Wine Legend (81 Fleet Street): Based out of Livingston, New Jersey, this new wine shop will be bringing its wares to the corner of Fleet and Myrtle.

Cammareri Bakery & Cafe: Located on 1 South Elliot Place, this neighborhood standby recently closed up shop after a very long run. They had a knockout vegetarian quiche and it will be sorely missed.
