More than one million people spent Labor Day along Eastern Parkway for the 48th Annual West Indian Day parade.

The festivities, which started around 11am, went smoothly despite a shootout the night before where Governor Cuomo’s first deputy counsel, Carey Gabay, was shot in the head.

The parade started off with politicians, including Governor Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Borough President Eric Adams, and Senator Chuck Schumer, followed by the music, dancing, and colorful costumes the parade is known for.

We particularly love all of the great Carribbean food served at pop-up tents along the parade route.
