Clinton Hill Has Officially Made It: The Sour Patch Kids House Is Here

Gummy candy Sour Patch Kids has purchased a Clinton Hill home to house traveling musicians in exchange for artist-produced “content,” Ad Age posted earlier this week. While the building’s address is being kept under wraps, the publication says what’s now known as the “Brooklyn Patch” is a four bed, two bath home in a landmarked area of the neighborhood.

While still in its initial stages, the house will host emerging indie musicians like Deer Tick, Magic Man, and, says Ad Age, Tame Impala — although Brooklyn Vegan denies the latter.

Depending on the length of their stay at the Brooklyn Patch, artists will be encouraged to create different amounts of content, including social media posts. However, says company marketing director Farrah Bezner, “This is not about us making a Sour Patch Kids record.”

“We envision this being a very grassroots thing,” says Jesse Kirshbaum of NUE Agency, a firm partnering with Sour Patch Kids.

An Austin Patch is set to launch in 2015.
