Citywide High School Fair This Weekend & Other Useful Info
Historic Erasmus Hall in Flatbush.

Welcome to the school year!  If you have kids looking at starting Middle School and High School next year, you are probably bracing yourself for the circles of hell you’ll travel through until March.

This too, shall pass, but it will be easier if you have a robust calendar of events that you need to keep track of.  For example, citywide High School Fair is this weekend.

HIGH SCHOOL – September TO DO LIST

  • Attend the Citywide High School Fair this weekend at the Brooklyn Technical High School, 29 Fort Greene Place ,  10am–3pm both Saturday and Sunday. Meet staff and students from different schools on the same day, in the same place.
  • Register to apply to Specialized High Schools: Ask your school counselor how to register for the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT) or for LaGuardia High School auditions. Pester them about it – to make sure your child has a chance of attending one of the nine citywide specialized high schools.
  • Use NYC School Finder and the NYC High School Directory: Find high schools based on what your interests are, where you live, and more.
  • Go to school open houses: Plan your fall visits to high schools that interest you to help you figure out which 12 programs you will list on your application.

Questions? Visit High School Admissions, speak with your school counselor, or call 718-935-2399.
