CEC 20 Meeting March 21

A “CEC” or Community Education Council is a group made up of nine parents, two political appointees and one high school senior which oversees the elementary and intermediate schools in a district.

CEC’s are remnants of the school boards that were dismantled by Mayor Bloomberg way back in his first term. There is one CEC for each of New York City’s 32 school districts.

The March meeting of the Community Education Council for District 20 will take place on Wednesday, March 21, at P.S. 200.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

Topics will include changes to New York State’s statewide exams.

Appointments will comprise of the following:

Dana Parentini, Assistant Principal P.S. 170

Angelo Sacco, Assistant Principal P.S./I.S. 180

Colby Muscarelle, Assistant Principal P.S./I.S. 180

Diana Messano, Assistant Principal P.S. 200

Michelle Bennett, Assistant Principal P.S. 204
