Cast Your District 38 Participatory Budgeting Vote Starting Saturday

If you’re 14 or older and live in District 38, you can vote in Councilmember Carlos Menchaca‘s Participatory Budgeting elections starting Saturday, April 11 through Sunday, April 19.

Participatory Budgeting gives residents the opportunity to choose neighborhood projects that they’d like to see receive funding — a total of $2 million will be spent on the winning projects. Things on this year’s ballot include upgrades to technology at several local schools, improvements to the Butterfly Garden on 7th Avenue and 18th Street, new trees to be planted around the district, and more. Learn more about all the projects in a series of videos here, or in person this Sunday, April 12 at 2pm at Sunset Park HIgh School, during Menchaca’s State of the District Address and PB Project Expo, which you can RSVP for here.

Voting will take place at multiple locations around the district. In our area, polling locations are open daily from 7am-8pm at the 25th Street subway station; Monday-Friday from 3-8pm at Uprose at 166a 22nd Street, just off 4th Avenue; daily from 3-7pm at Greenwood Park, 555 7th Avenue; and on weekdays from 2-6pm at Slope Park, on 6th Avenue between 18th and 19th Streets.

Voting in Councilmember Brad Lander’s District 39, which also covers part of our area, begins on Tuesday. Not sure which district you’re in? Find out here!
