Torah Similar to One Stolen From 18th Ave/CIA

UPDATE 5pm: The Torah and the car have been recovered. According to The Yeshiva World News, an anonymous call was made noting the location of the car, and the 66th Precinct found it, and the Torah, parked on E 10th St between Ave I and the LIRR tracks.

Police are looking for a Torah worth about $30,000 after the car it was in was stolen from outside the Congregation Agudath Sholom of Flatbush at 3714 18th Ave, just off of Coney Island Ave.

On Saturday, January 19, at about 6pm, police say a man reported a gray 2007 Toyota Corolla had been stolen from its parking spot opposite the synagogue. Police tell DNAinfo that the thief stole the victim’s keys and wallet from where they’d been left inside the synagogue.

Police supplied the photo above of a Torah that looks similar to the one that was stolen.
