A woman was hospitalized after her car overturned during a collision on Coney Island Avenue Thursday afternoon, according to the FDNY.
The crash occurred at 12:21pm near the intersection with Avenue P. The driver was taken to Lutheran Medical Center and her condition was “not likely to die,” the Fire Department reports.
Pictures taken at the scene show a red Hyundai lying upside-down in the middle of Coney Island. Shattered glass from the windows was sprayed over the road below it.
Police were unable to provide details about the cause of the crash — only that it involved another vehicle.
Video posted on YouTube by Yeshiva World News shows an NYPD Emergency Service Unit truck hauling the overturned car back on its wheels. Firefighters pulled some of debris away from the vehicle before attaching chains from the police truck.
