Capital One Bank Coming To Avenue U And East 16th Street
A new Capital One Bank is coming to 1521 Avenue U, at the corner of East 16th Street… and half a block away from another Capital One Bank, which is expected to close as this one opens.
A diagram of the new location is posted on the construction fencing, which went up about two weeks ago. This is the view of the East 16th Street side:
The location is the former site of a laundromat and bodega. Overall, it looks like a nice physical upgrade to the somewhat rundown corner.
Still, it is another bank. And it’s directly across from TD Bank, a block away from HSBC, two blocks away from both Chase and EastWest Bank and… well, there are a whole bunch more banks between this location and Nostrand Avenue. Hey, options are nice, right?
